5th China Forum 2020
China and Europe are important trade and investment partners for each other, because the total population of China and Europe is equivalent to one-fourth of the world's population, the total mutual economic output is 40% of the world's economic output, and bilateral trade creates one-third of the total international trade volume. Therefore, deep and comprehensive cooperation in the fields of culture, economy, and science and technology between China and Europe will give further impetus to the growth of the world economy, as well as contribute with even more positive energy to jointly fighting the epidemic and rebuilding the weakened economy.
The 5th China Forum promotes the development of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the EU and provides a platform for exchanges and cooperation between the two sides. In particular, this interactive online conference will be held in the fields of international understanding, epidemic prevention and control, climate change, environmental protection, digital economy, trade and investment, innovative governance and economic theory, to learn from each other, share experiences, build cooperation, strive for common development and contribute to world peace and prosperity.

Review
5th China Forum, November 6, 2020, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Information, inspiration, exchange and further development!
The content of the 5th China Forum "Europe - China: CONNECTIVITY & PROSPERITY" within the framework of the "Belt & Road" initiative provided the approximately 350 participants in the virtual space with many new and interesting aspects from the fields of culture, law, research and innovation as well as entrepreneurship and business. There was also a focus on the topic of climate protection and pandemics and the search for joint solutions - it could not be more topical. The aim of the event was to learn from each other, exchange experiences and build cooperation in order to strengthen the development of a comprehensive strategic partnership between Styria/Austria/EU and China and thereby contribute to prosperity and world peace. The China Forum was again organized by the Confucius Institute at the University of Graz, which could look back on its first "10th anniversary" on October 29, 2020. Founded on the initiative of Karl Franzens University Graz and Jiangsu University in the Chinese city of Zhenjiang with a population of 3 million, Jiangsu Province with the cooperation of its current director, Dr. Wan Jie Chen, the Confucius Institute Graz already offers over 1,200 learners throughout Austria primarily high-quality language instruction and a wide variety of specific activities. The biennial China Forums are among the Institute's most comprehensive events and bring numerous high-ranking and top-ranking Chinese personalities to Graz in each edition. Due to Corona, this year's edition, reduced in time and content, took place as an online format. The China Forums are among the most important China events in Europe and show the self-conception of the Confucius Institute Graz to be a platform of exchange between China and Austria/EU in various fields. Conclusion Super attractive topics, remarkable speakers, great participation, in short: Operation successful! See you at the 6th China Forum in autumn 2022!
